three!

I wish to express profound thanks to my extended family, 99 Followers, 116 Facebook friends, growing Twitter tweeters, those who have ‘liked’ and ‘shared’ me and  all other supportive readers over the past 36 months.  Your interest and encouragement definitely keep me inspired to describe various aspects of my life as a Canadian expatriate who has resided for 18 years (this month!) on the Nature Island.

While this blog has a very specific niche in a very small country, I am delighted to report that there have been over 60,000 visits to the 135 posts on this site. This figure does include several re-blogged pieces  from Canary Gal about my  wonderful trip to Canada in the summer of 2014 and an incredible visit to Paris in December 2014/January 2015 from my home base on the Nature Island. However, the majority of musings (about 120) are dedicated to Dominica!

  1. Congratulations! What an important milestone, and you’ve written many great posts over these past three years. (Dennis and I were quite surprised that it’s been more than 18 years since we first met you on Bequia, before you moved to Dominica … Where has the time gone?)

Thanks Sue. it’s just about 18 years exactly since we first met (March 1997). Then I went on to Dominica. While I did go back and forth to Canada, spending increasing amounts of time on the Nature Isle during the first 1 1/2 years, the adventures began from the get-go! Yes, time does pass in the blink of an eye – I guess we have to make the most of it- and more importantly perhaps, follow our hearts…

Thanks Peter! I don’t feel that I have much energy. I guess I am just used to doing the best I can with what little I have. Perhaps Dominica has that effect on me. Hope spring will come to NS soon, and that I’ll see you this summer when it should at last be warm!

Congratulations on your success 🙂 It is a great way to keep in touch. My snowbound gang sure wish they were back in your rain forest. Ben says it was the most beautiful place he has ever seen and the swim under the waterfall was amazing. I’m afraid the Maritimes are gripped by another blizzard today. We live vicariously through your posts. 🙂 xo

Much appreciated Jude. Dominica is an outstanding natural beauty, that’s for sure. Ben’s remarks remind me that I am truly blessed to spend so much time in this paradise. I hope spring will find its way to the Maritimes very soon. Sending you warmth from the Nature Isle! XO
